Our President
Mrs. Aline Karam
My journey with autism began when I met Arwa Al Amine Halawi, co-founder of LAS, who was dedicated to raising awareness about autism and supporting families with autistic children at a time when society was largely unfamiliar with the condition.
This cause quickly became close to my heart, and I realized the immense effort required to spread awareness, stay informed about the latest medical advancements, and ensure individuals with autism receive the best possible support.
In 2018, I joined the LAS Board of Directors as Vice President, and since 2023, I have been honored to serve as President. My commitment remains steadfast to advocate for the full inclusion of individuals with autism in every aspect of society.

2002-2022
As a mother of a child with Autism, the diagnosis of her son Abbas was devastating to her; and the lack of support and services for individuals with autism and their families in Lebanon at the time pushed her and some parents in the same situation to start up and NGO, LAS catering for the needs for individuals of Autism and their families. her purpose was mainly to help families with the diagnosis of Autism and give the support she didn't have.
Arwa will always be remembered as being the first and most passionate advocate for individuals with Autism
